Violinist Yuko Kimura studied at the Academy of Music in Kyoto after which she began higher music studies at the Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo. Later, with support from the Czech government, she took a postgraduate degree at the Academy of Music in Prague with Josef Suk, Antonin Moravetz and the Smetana Quartet. She also taught at the this academy and toured with a solo recital. She then worked in Flensburg (Germany) at the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater. Since 1991 she has been a permanent member of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.
