Carlos Navarro Herrero

Carlos Navarro Herrero is a versatile double bassist whose career bridges historical authenticity and modern innovation. From 2017 to 2024, he was a key member of the renowned Musicaeterna orchestra under Teodor Currentzis, serving as assistant and co-principal. During this time, he was deeply involved in various chamber music projects at Dom Radio, performing everything from early music on period instruments to cutting-edge contemporary works.

Since 2024, Carlos has collaborated with numerous prominent ensembles, including the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Carlos began his musical education in Spain with David Monrabal, and later studied in London with Rinat Ibragimov at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He completed his studies in Moscow under the guidance of Evgeny Kolosov at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He is also a former member of the European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO), the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra (SHFO), and the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE). His achievements include prizes at international competitions such as the Koussevitzky Competition.

As of 2025, he joins the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra as co-principal double bass.
