Elías Blanco Del Prado
Born in Guardo (Spain) in 1999, Elías Blanco Del Prado began his musical journey at the age of six, studying at the local music school and playing in the town’s wind band. In 2014, he moved to Salamanca to pursue professional studies at the Conservatory of Music, graduating in 2017 with the highest distinction and receiving the Extraordinary Prize for Music of Castilla y León in percussion.
That same year, he continued his education at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied with Nick Woud, Tomohiro Ando, Mark Braafhart, Bence Major, Bart Jansen, Richard Jansen, Arnold Marinissen, Rachel Xi Zhang, Peter Prommel, and Ramon Lormans. He completed his Master’s degree in Orchestral Percussion in 2024.
Elías has gained orchestral experience as an academist with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra (2022–2023), the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (2023–2024), and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra (2024–2025). He also regularly performs with ensembles such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Het Balletorkest Amsterdam, Orquesta del Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León.
In August 2025, he was appointed as a permanent member of the percussion and timpani section of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.
