Sander Geerts

Sander Geerts is one of the most prominent violinists in Belgium. He studied at the conservatories of Antwerp and Maastricht and improved his skills with renowned violinists such as Ervin Schiffer, Bruno Giuranna, Nobuko Imai, Hartmut Rohde, Tatjana Masurenko and Yuri Bashmet. He has soloed with various ensembles and orchestras, including the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonie Baden-Baden and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2006, he won a "Special Prize" at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition in the United Kingdom. Since 2008 he has been principal viola at the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. 

Sander Geerts is a passionate chamber musician and forms 'Duo Agineko' together with pianist Yasuko Takahashi. They won several prizes at international competitions, such as the 'International Competition of Young Performers' in Madeira (Portugal), the 'Young Musician International Competition for Chamber Music' in Barletta (Italy) and the 'International J. Brahms Competition' in Pörtschach (Austria).
