Volodymyr Fedorov

Fedorov Volodymyr is a Ukrainian cellist. He was born into a family of musicians: his father, Mychailo Fedorov, was principal cellist of the Kharkiv Philharmonic Orchestra, and his mother, Olena Fedorova, taught cello after studying at a music school and the Pedagogical University.

He began playing the cello at the age of six and received his early education at the Kharkiv Specialized Music School. He continued his studies at the Kharkiv National University of Arts, refining his skills under Professor Elena Shchelkanovtseva, a student of Svyatoslav Knushevitsky and Mstislav Rostropovich. After graduation, he completed an assistantship-internship program.

In 2007, he began his professional career with the Kharkiv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. In 2016, he became its soloist and principal cellist, as well as a member of the Philharmonic String Quartet and an active chamber music performer.

Since 2017, he has also collaborated with the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) Orchestra in Mumbai, performing under renowned conductors such as Zubin Mehta.

As of 2025, he joins the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra as a member of the cello section.
