Antía Balboa Doldán
Born in A Coruña, Spain, bass player Antía Balboa Doldán began her musical journey at the Cristóbal Halffter Conservatory, where she obtained her professional degree in double bass. She went on to study with Javier Sapiña at the Conservatory of Music of Aragon, before completing her Master’s degree at Codarts in Rotterdam under the guidance of Ximo Clemente, Luis Cabrera, and Matthew Midgley.
Her orchestral career has already taken her to ensembles such as the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Rotterdam, Neue Philharmonie München, Jeugdorkest Nederland, and the Symphony of Zaragoza. She has also appeared at international festivals including Animato, and has performed alongside renowned soloists such as Maxim Vengerov, Johannes Moser, and Kian Soltani.
Masterclasses with artists like Dominic Seldis, Olivier Thiery, and Yann Dubost have been an important source of inspiration, while working under conductors including Jaap van Zweden and Eliahu Inbal has enriched her orchestral experience.
Driven by her passion for music, Antía is eager to explore new projects and share the versatility of the double bass with audiences across Europe.
