David Kuijken

David Kuijken started taking drum lessons at the age of 5. When he learned about the marimba, it was love at first sight. David obtained his bachelor's degree in classical percussion at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2021 where he had lessons from Nick Woud, Bence Major, Mark Braafhart, Ramon Lormans, Rachel (Xi) Zhang, Arnold Marinissen and Richard Jansen, among others. Since 2021 David has been studying the master of classical percussion at Codarts Rotterdam. Here he has lessons from Chris Leenders and Ramon Lormans. 

Since 2022 David has been a PI percussion teacher at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he also gives chamber music lessons at the 'school for young talent'. Furthermore, David provides educational percussion workshops on behalf of the Residentie Orkest.
