Lluc Pascual Sarret

Lluc was born in 1998 in Catalonia, he started playing the cello at the age of 9 and studied with Laia Puig. He recently graduated cum laude under the tutelage of Gustav Rivinius in Maastricht.

He has received master classes and advice from Marc Coopey, Reinhard Latzko, Johannes Mosser, Gabriel Schwabe, Frans Helmerson, Alexander Chaushyan and Fernando Arias.

He has won the Honorable Mention at the Pau Casals International Cello Competition 2018, the 1st Prize at the Cidade de Vigo 2020 String Competition and the 2nd Prize and Special Prize for the best interpretation of a Catalan composer for the interpretation of Cassasó Cello Suite at the BBVA 2017 Music Competition.

He is a member of the Youth Orchestra of the European Union (EUYO) and has played with the Youth Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC) for many years touring several cities in Europe.

He currently plays a 1720 French cello made by Claude Pierray on loan from the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds in the Netherlands.
