Alevtina Ioffe is recognized as one of the most versatile and inspiring conductors of her generation. She regularly appears at leading opera houses such as the Komische Oper Berlin, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, Gothenburg Opera, Seattle Opera, Opernhaus Zürich, and Washington National Opera.

Equally successful on the symphonic stage, she has conducted ensembles including the Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre National d’Île-de-France, Orchestre National de Lyon, and the Seattle Symphony. In Italy, she is a frequent guest with the Orchestra della Toscana, the Orchestra del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, and the Haydn Orchestra.

Born in Moscow, she studied choral conducting, classical voice, piano, and orchestral conducting at the Moscow State Conservatory. She served as Music Director of the Natalia Sats Theater in Moscow for a decade and later of the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg. She currently resides in Bern.
