Alexander Malofeev
Born in Moscow and now residing in Berlin, pianist Alexander Malofeev (born 2001) has rapidly evolved into one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation since his victory at the Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. His concert schedule takes him to the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam — where he opened the 30th-anniversary concert of the Meesterpianisten series — and leading halls in Paris, Milan, Tokyo, and Shanghai.
Malofeev regularly collaborates with top-tier orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, under the baton of renowned conductors including Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. His exceptional virtuosity and artistic depth have been recognised with numerous awards, including the Grand Prix of the International Grand Piano Competition and the title of ‘Best Young Musician of 2017’. As the first-ever ‘Young Yamaha Artist’, he remains a prominent fixture at major international music festivals, from Verbier and La Roque d’Anthéron to Tanglewood and Aspen in the United States.
