Benjamin Pope
Benjamin is an internationally acclaimed conductor who has built an impressive career with the world's most renowned orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic, the Dresden Staatskapelle, the Vienna Staatsoper, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. He is globally regarded as one of the most sought-after conductors for dance and ballet, with a career that has taken him to iconic opera houses such as Covent Garden and La Fenice. Notably, he has held key positions such as Music Director of the Royal Ballet of Flanders and Music Consultant for the Hong Kong Ballet.
Alongside his work in traditional concert halls, Benjamin has established himself as a leading specialist in live-to-projection film concerts, having been personally authorised by John Williams for the Star Wars series and working closely with studios like Disney and Warner Bros on productions ranging from Harry Potter to Titanic. His versatility is further highlighted by his long-standing collaboration with choreographer Matthew Bourne and his extensive experience in the recording studio. Despite his busy international schedule, he remains deeply committed to music education and talent development; he leads large-scale educational projects at the Royal Albert Hall, contributes to literature on orchestral performance techniques, and shares his expertise as a guest tutor at the Royal College of Music to inspire the next generation of conductors and film composers.
