Franco-British conductor Stephanie Childress has established herself as a dynamic and forward-thinking force on the international stage, holding the position of Principal Guest Conductor of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya.

Her 2025/26 season is marked by high-profile debuts with orchestras such as the LA Philharmonic and the Zürich Chamber Orchestra, alongside a significant symphonic exploration of Schumann with ensembles in Toronto and Frankfurt. With strong transatlantic ties, she bridges the French and American cultural scenes through her previous residency at Villa Albertine and her past role as Assistant Conductor of the St. Louis Symphony.

Renowned for her interpretations of both Mozart and contemporary opera, Childress has earned acclaim at prestigious houses like the Hamburg Staatsoper and Glyndebourne. Her current season features her first production of La Traviata at the Finnish National Opera and a gala performance with l’Opéra de Paris.
