Charlie Chaplin changed the film industry forever. In addition to perhaps being one of the most influential actors and directors of all time, this multitalented artist also composed the scores for many of his films, such as Modern Times, a satirical black comedy about the Great Depression and his most successful film at the box office. The song Smile – one of the highlights of the soundtrack – has since been covered by many artists, including Nat King Cole and Lady Gaga. Enjoy a screening of Chaplin’s timeless comedic masterpiece and its surprisingly complex score, with live music by the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.
