Music from the far north
Finland has consistently ranked No. 1 in the UN’s World Happiness Report. Perhaps this is also due to the excellent composers that this country has produced. For over a hundred years, the Fins and master symphonists such as Sibelius and Aho have unleashed the power of their heavenly music on us. The latter in particular continues to surprise us year after year with original concertos, like this Double Concerto for Two Bassoons and Orchestra. Who better than the Finnish conductor Osmo Vänskä to share Finland’s national pride with us?
