Elisabeth Weekend: Chamber music at AMUZ
Franz Schubert is the undisputed master of chamber music. He is especially known for his hundreds of lieder, some of which he also referenced in his later works. Schubert’s delightful Das Forellenquintett, for example, is named after one of his most beautiful lieder, with the melody recurring as a theme throughout the quintet. Piano virtuoso Lukáš Vondráček surrounds himself with musicians of the Antwerp Symphony and of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Chapel for one of the highlights of the romantic chamber music repertoire.
