Virtuosity squared with Katia and Marielle Labèque
The legendary Labèque sisters have been performing as a high-level piano duo for many decades and their upcoming concert in Antwerp is sure to be a riveting experience. Katia and Marielle are bringing a programme that includes Martinů’s Concerto for two pianos, a relatively unknown but brilliant masterpiece. Together with Brahms’s stirring Tragic Overture and Mozart’s brilliant overture to Die Entführung and his Symphony No. 40 – with its legendary main theme –, the young guest conductor Maxim Emelyanychev has selected some wonderful music to start the weekend.
