Ciska Vandelanotte

Ciska Vandelanotte (°1995) started playing the violin with Marijke van Riel through the Suzuki method and then took lessons with Filip Suys at the music school of Gentbrugge. As a preparatory year for the conservatory, she took a year of private lessons with Jolente De Maeyer. Ciska obtained her Bachelor's degree at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in the class of Tatiana Samouil and her Master's degree in Music at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Yossif Ivanov. She obtained her diploma Specifieke Lerarenopleiding (SLO) and now teaches violin at the academy MAAK in Knokke-Heist.

During her studies, Ciska was selected as an academist of the National Orchestra of Belgium, she is an alumnus of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra Academy and gained further orchestral experience with The Hague Philharmonic, casco phil and Young Belgian Strings.

In addition to orchestral work and teaching, she's also committed to two chamber music groups. With Another String Quartet she performed with Tourist LeMC in front of a sold-out Lotto Arena and Paradiso Amsterdam, toured with the theater performance "Aangenaam ik ben Ish" with Ish Aït Hamou and she already worked in the studio with Bazart and Ivy Falls. Ciska is also violinist at the Firgun Ensemble with which she won the first prize during the Storioni Willem II competition 2018 in the Netherlands.

Ciska plays a violin built by the Belgian luthier Thomas Meuwissen. She has this instrument on loan from an anonymous patron.
