Icelandic tenor Benedikt Kristjánsson is an internationally acclaimed concert and opera singer, trained in Reykjavik and Berlin under masters such as Scot Weir and Peter Schreier. He established himself as a Bach specialist, winning prizes at prestigious competitions in Greifswald and Leipzig. Kristjánsson is renowned for his innovative approach, earning an OPUS Klassik award in 2019 for his unique arrangement of Bach’s St John Passion.

With a repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary music, he collaborates with leading conductors like Philippe Herreweghe and Reinhard Goebel at world-class venues, including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Berlin Philharmonie. As a lieder singer, he has also garnered critical acclaim. His debut album Drang in die Ferne, featuring a mix of Schubert and Icelandic folk songs, was nominated for several major music awards.
