Kirill Petrenko is one of the most distinguished conductors of our time. Born in Siberia and trained in Vienna, he first gained international acclaim as General Music Director in Meiningen and at the Komische Oper Berlin.

His illustrious operatic career has taken him to the world’s leading houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, and the Bavarian State Opera, where he served as General Music Director from 2013 to 2020. He also achieved significant acclaim at the Bayreuth Festival for his conducting of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen.
