violin

At just fourteen years old, Lilja Haatainen is a promising Finnish violin talent who has been making an impression on international stages from a very young age. She began playing the violin at the age of three and made her orchestral debut as a soloist when she was only eight. Since then, she has won significant awards, including first prize at the prestigious Louis Spohr International Competition for Young Violinists. Her training at the Finland Violin Academy and her collaborations with renowned conductors have confirmed her position as one of the most exciting young musicians of her generation.

In the 2025 season, Haatainen is further expanding her international career with debuts including the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. At the invitation of Janine Jansen, she is participating in the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht and was recently featured as a ‘Young Hero’ on the Dutch television programme Podium Klassiek. In addition to her appearances as a soloist with various Finnish and German orchestras, she will perform at several music festivals this summer. Her artistic development is supported by various prestigious foundations, including the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
