Marc Vossen

Marc Vossen started playing the cello at the age of eight and studied with Godfried Hoogeveen (The Hague) and Ralph Kirshbaum (Manchester), among others. He won numerous prizes at (inter)national competitions and performs on a regular basis as a soloist with orchestras such as the Wurthenberger Kammer Orchester Heillbronn, Münchener Kammer Orchester and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra Dublin. Together with his brother Wouter (violin) and pianist Bart van de Roer, he forms the Storioni Trio, which has achieved international success. The Trio has its "own" Storioni Festival in collaboration with Muziekcentrum Frits Philips in Eindhoven. The Trio has made its debut at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Theatre du Chatelet and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw. Marc is first solo cellist of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and has also guested in that capacity with other orchestras including the Residentie Orkest and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. Since September 1, 2009, Marc has been a professor at the Maastricht Academy of Music.
