Stuart Skelton
Australian tenor Stuart Skelton is internationally acclaimed as one of today’s finest heldentenors, celebrated for his outstanding musicianship, tonal beauty, and intensely dramatic portrayals. He is a leading authority on the Wagnerian repertoire, with signature roles including Tristan from Tristan und Isolde, Siegmund from Die Walküre, and Parsifal. Furthermore, he is world-renowned for his definitive portrayal of the title role in Britten’s Peter Grimes, which he has performed at major houses including the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and English National Opera.
Skelton’s distinguished career sees him appearing at the world’s most prestigious opera houses and concert halls, such as the Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala, and the Opéra national de Paris. He maintains close artistic partnerships with pre-eminent conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Marek Janowski, and Jaap van Zweden. Beyond the operatic stage, he is a sought-after concert soloist, particularly noted for his interpretations of Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. His exceptional contributions to the arts were recognised in 2014 when he was named 'Male Singer of the Year' at the International Opera Awards.
