Václav Luks

The Czech conductor and harpsichordist Václav Luks, trained in Prague and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, is a pivotal figure in the revival of Baroque music. As the founder of the Collegium 1704 orchestra and vocal ensemble, he has gained international acclaim for his performances of composers such as Zelenka and Mysliveček. Alongside his work with specialist early music ensembles, he is a frequent guest conductor with leading modern orchestras, including the Orchestre National de France and the Czech Philharmonic. His significant cultural contributions have been recognised with the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and numerous prestigious recording awards.
