Norwegian-Nicaraguan soprano Victoria Randem has rapidly established herself as one of the most prominent lyrical voices of her generation. Between 2019 and 2024, she was a member of the ensemble at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, where she shone in roles such as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte). She achieved her international breakthrough in 2021 with the world premiere of Peter Eötvös’ Sleepless. Since then, she has been a frequent guest on prestigious stages such as the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Semperoper Dresden, and the Bayreuth Festival, collaborating with conductors like Daniel Barenboim and Sir Simon Rattle.

Randem is praised for her dramatic presence and artistic versatility, evidenced by both her award-winning title role in The Cunning Little Vixen and her portrayal of Maria in West Side Story. Her exceptional talent has been honoured with numerous awards, including the 2025 Kirsten Flagstad Prize and the Hedda Prize. Significant upcoming projects include a residency at the Norwegian National Opera, performances with the Berliner Philharmoniker, and a return to Bayreuth, further cementing her status as an international star.
