Chamber Music
Three Americans each take on the same group of woodwind instruments, yet there is no risk of repetition? That’s what you get with such varied sound artists as the modernist Carter, the experimental Cage and the post-Romantic Barber. During this concert, the woodwind section will wend its way effortlessly through totally different musical languages, illustrating the diversity in the abundance of modern woodwind music. Irving Fine will be contributing with a little-known yet nonetheless exciting piece, complemented by brand new work by Oscar Bettison for solo oboe.
