Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Lucas and Arthur Jussen
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra boasts a rich tradition, and for generations has been one of the world’s foremost orchestras. Performing on this occasion are audience favourites Lucas and Arthur Jussen, probably today’s most celebrated piano duo. The two brothers tune their souls in tandem into the tones of Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos. In 2015 the Jussens recorded this sparkling work for the legendary label Deutsche Grammophon, which promptly delivered them an Edison Audience Prize. After Mozart’s refined masterpiece, Music Director Vasily Petrenko places Prokofiev’s suite from Romeo and Juliet on the music stand, a chunk of pure drama that further accentuates the imposing sound of this leading orchestra.
