Luc Van Gorp

Luc Van Gorp started his career at the age of eight in the music academy of Herentals. It soon became clear that playing the trumpet was his passion and he continued his education at the conservatory of Antwerp. There he took lessons with Theo Mertens and obtained the following degrees: first prizes in solfège, chamber music and transposition, first cycle diploma (oboe short type), and a diploma for trumpet.

During these studies, he also played with all the major Belgian symphony orchestras as a freelance trumpet player. Think of the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Flemish Opera, De Munt, Collegium Brugense, the Royal Orchestra of Flanders, I Fiammingi, The Beethoven Academy .... Luc also became a teacher in the music academies of Tessenderlo and Brasschaat.

He has performed many times in a variety of venues both in the classical and contemporary genre. He also collaborated on numerous CD, radio, and TV recordings and was also a teacher and organizer of various music camps including the non-profit organization "Muziekkamp".

In the early 1990s, he completed his studies at the Brussels Conservatory of Music with Guido Segers. There he also obtained the pedagogical diploma option chamber music. He was a member of the Gabrieli brass ensemble from 1990 to 1993. In 1993, he became second trumpeter at the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.
