Baritone Matthias Lika is a rising star who, in late 2024, was awarded first prize at the prestigious Bundeswettbewerb Gesang in Berlin. Born into a musical family, he began his vocal training with the Augsburger Domsingknaben and graduated with distinction from his master's studies in Stuttgart.

His artistic development has been further shaped by masterclasses with luminaries such as Hans-Christoph Rademann and Peter Kooij. Today, Lika is a highly sought-after soloist at major venues like the Berliner Philharmonie and the Alte Oper Frankfurt, collaborating with renowned conductors and ensembles.

Lika’s versatility is reflected in a schedule that encompasses opera, oratorio, and song recitals. Upcoming highlights include performances at the MusikTheater an der Wien, Bach's St Matthew Passion under Peter Dijkstra, and a tour of Schubert's Winterreise. His recording career is equally flourishing, with the 2026 release of his debut solo song album and a world premiere recording of the opera Dame Kobold on the Naxos label. A prize-winner and former scholar of Live Music Now, he is regarded as one of the most compelling baritones of his generation.
