Sasha Cooke
Two-time Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke is globally renowned for her "luminous presence" and exceptional versatility. A frequent guest at major opera houses such as the Metropolitan Opera and San Francisco Opera, she has performed with over 90 symphony orchestras worldwide.
Cooke is particularly celebrated as a definitive interpreter of Mahler’s works. Beyond her illustrious stage career, she was appointed Co-Director of the Lehrer Vocal Institute at the Music Academy of the West in 2022, sharing her expertise with the next generation of vocalists.
The 2025-2026 season sees her further expanding her impressive repertoire, including her role debut in the title role of Carmen at Seattle Opera and performances of Verdi’s Requiem and Mahler’s Third Symphony with the Wiener Symphoniker. A dedicated recitalist, Cooke is touring her programme Of Thee I Sing to prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center and Park Avenue Armory. Her extensive discography, including the Grammy-nominated album how do I find you, confirms her status as one of the most significant and celebrated artists of her generation.
