Serafina Starke

Soprano Serafina Starke (born 2000) is a rising star on the international opera scene, currently a member of the International Opera Studio at the Berlin State Opera. Her recent and upcoming highlights include performing under Christian Thielemann in Die schweigsame Frau and making her debut as Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Starke has a significant history with the Salzburg Festival, where she appeared in the Young Singers Project and as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro. Her extensive stage experience already spans prestigious venues such as the Bavarian State Opera, the Bregenz Festival, and her 2025 debut at the Glyndebourne Festival in Wagner’s Parsifal.

Beyond the opera house, Starke is an accomplished concert and Lieder singer, having performed as a soloist under the baton of masters like Riccardo Muti and Daniel Barenboim. Her concert repertoire includes major works by Mozart, Haydn, and Bach, with upcoming debuts at the Zurich Opera House and with the Thomanerchor Leipzig. A highly decorated artist, she has won top prizes at the ARD International Music Competition and the Gasteig Competition. Her versatile musicality is rooted in rigorous training at the Mozarteum Salzburg and the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, supplemented by her background as a violinist.
