The Verona families the Montaccis and the Capulettis can drink each others’ blood, but what happens when two members of the families fall hopelessly in love with each other? They go by the names of Romeo and Juliet and they are determined not to allow the childish feud between their two families to stand in the way of their happiness. But they are forgetting Julia’s cousin Tybalt. Their fairy-tale marriage is disrupted by a life or death duel between Romeo and Tybalt in the parking lot of a pizzeria while Mamma Miracoli is fixing a delicious pot of steaming spaghetti. Meanwhile, Maestro Dirk Brossé will be conducting music by Prokofiev during this KID version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the legendary play that has inspired every story about teens in love and quibbling families-in-law 400 years after it was written.
