As tradition dictates, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra rings in the New Year with a musical journey to Vienna. For 2026, the celebration begins in Spain, with guitarist Juan Manuel Cañizares performing Joaquín Rodrigo’s melancholic Concierto de Aranjuez, a jewel of the classical guitar repertoire. Manuel de Falla’s vibrant Spanish folk dances follow, setting the stage for a Viennese festivity. Then the Viennese party really erupts, because waltzes and polkas and Johann Strauss Jr.: this belongs to New Year as much as fireworks and bubbles!
