At ninety, conductor Eliahu Inbal remains a cherished guest of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. Renowned for his interpretations of Mahler and Bruckner, he leads a programme focused on resilience and hope. As the year draws to a close, the orchestra looks ahead with confidence, featuring Ravel’s Scheherazade: the story of a narrator surviving through her art. This is paired with Mahler’s hopeful Fourth Symphony, which depicts heavenly life in perfect serenity. Together, these works celebrate a world “filled with joy,” offering a sublime musical transition into the new year.
