Lore Binon
Belgian soprano Lore Binon is a versatile artist who began her career as a violinist before dedicating herself fully to the art of singing. She completed her vocal studies with the highest honours in Barcelona and Amsterdam and is currently coached by the renowned Margreet Honig. Her broad musical horizon spans from Baroque opera to contemporary music theatre, frequently collaborating with conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe, René Jacobs, and Leonardo García Alarcón.
On the opera stage, Binon has made an impression in roles such as Barbarina and Pamina at Opera Ballet Flanders, and she recently shone in the world premiere of De Bekeerlinge and the Baroque opera Atys in Geneva and Versailles. In addition to her solo career, she is a driving force behind the ensemble Revue Blanche and a passionate advocate for the intimate art song (Lied) repertoire. Her artistic depth has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the Klara Award for Young Talent and various residencies at leading festivals.
The 2024/2025 season marks a new series of highlights, including a tour of the St Matthew Passion conducted by Jonathan Cohen with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Furthermore, she continues to pioneer contemporary music with world premieres at the Klara Festival and new productions at Opera Ballet Flanders. Her ability to infuse both early and modern music with refined expression makes her a regular guest on international stages such as the Elbphilharmonie and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
